PandaDoc has always been a remote-first company, even pre-Covid, with entities in four locations. But as the company experienced new business growth, location became a limiting factor in trying to find the right talent. 

The software company began exploring other global locations, but found navigating local laws and restrictions challenging. That’s when Leanne Talbot, Manager of HR Business Operations at PandaDoc, started to consider utilizing Employer of Record (EOR) services to help with their hiring needs. 

One of Leanne’s top priorities was finding an EOR provider that seemed like a true partner, one she could work with on global hiring strategies and that would be there for any ongoing employment support.

Issues with their Former Employer of Record

PandaDoc initially chose an established EOR provider, but found they needed to make a change to find better support and lower costs. 

“With the increase of legislation coming in the EU, we were finding there were limitations with hiring via an Employer of Record and we were asking our original provider to find solutions,” said Leanne. “But they weren’t able to resolve any of these or their recommendations came with a massive cost. So it became a struggle for us to bring talent onboard.”

After exploring the market, Leanne ultimately chose RemoFirst to be PandaDoc’s new Employer of Record and to help them quickly onboard their global talent.
